By road
The main route to the south-west is by the M5 motorway with its interconnections from other routes at Almondsbury where the M4 and the M5 intersect. Watson-Marlow is about 180 miles from that intersection. Follow the M5 south towards Exeter (about 100 miles to go) and then the A30 signposted to Okehampton and Launceston.
Continue along the A30 for about 80 miles until you meet a roundabout at the top of a long hill, where you will see a windfarm. Following the map provided, from that roundabout take the second exit on the left, signposted to Truro, which takes you via Trispen to the A3076 to Truro.
You will reach a set of traffic lights at which you turn right and the road drops downhill to Trafalgar roundabout in Truro (police station on the left). Take the third exit and at the next roundabout take the second exit, following the signs for the A39 to Falmouth. At the top of the hill is a double roundabout, where you take the first exit, left on the A39 to Falmouth.
Follow the A39, and, after about ten miles, at the Hillhead roundabout, ignore the sign for Falmouth to the left, and turn right, taking the second exit, following the sign for Maenporth and the Industrial Estates. This will bring you on to Bickland Water Road, past the Falmouth football club on your left, and the Tregoniggie Industrial Estate also on your left. Watson-Marlow is next on the left, set in its own grounds, with its drive well signposted.
If you are going straight to the Penmere Manor Hotel (our normal recommendation), drive past Watson-Marlow and take the first turning on your left into Mongleath Road. Carry straight on through an area of housing, keeping left down a wooded one way road, and the hotel is on your left, about a mile from Watson-Marlow.
By air
British Airways run four regular daily services from Gatwick airport to Newquay (check in at the British Airways desk, North Terminal). Newquay airport is approximately 40 minutes drive from Watson-Marlow. If you let us know which flight you are taking, we will always be happy to collect you from the airport. Otherwise, taxis or hire cars are available at the airport.
By rail
If you are in London, take the Paddington to Penzance train. All the trains going to Cornwall are marked to Penzance because it is the last stop, but you will alight at Truro.
If you are arriving by air at Gatwick you should take a bus from Gatwick to Reading Station. If you are arriving by air at Heathrow, you should take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington which takes only 15 minutes.
The train journey to Cornwall takes around five hours from Paddington. The trip through Devon is very scenic, and, as you enter Cornwall, you will cross the famous Brunel railway bridge over the Tamar River. The train then stops frequently before arriving in Truro. If you let us know the time of your arrival, we will arrange for someone to meet you at Truro railway station, or taxis are available from outside the station. Truro is approximately 20 minutes drive from Falmouth.
